Christian Maturity
James 1:2-3
3Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
We want to be willing and able to do whatever God needs done so that He will be glorified. If you want to grow in your relationship with God, there are things that you must do.
| Get to know Jesus better. |

You can discover the completeness of your life in Him (Colossians 2:10a) |

You can experience the fullness of His life in you (John 14:21). |

Jesus can become involved in every intimate part of your life. |

You move beyond yourself, letting Christ assume full direction and control. | |

This experience will lead you into a maturing, personal relationship with God. |

God will help you grow as a Christian, but you must put forth the effort. |

A disciple must deny himself (renounce the self-centered life) | |
|

|
A disciple must take up his cross daily and follow Christ (Luke 9:23). |
| Live in the Word. |

You grow as you study the Bible regularly (I Peter 2:2). |

Begin each day by reading the Bible for your spiritual and personal development. |
| Pray in faith. |
|

Prayer is worship. |
|

Prayer is conversing with God (John 15:7). | |
| * | Talk to Him throughout each day. |
|

Believe His promises. |
|

.God delights in the prayers of His people. | |
|

You will gain new strength as you pray. |
| Fellowship with believers. |
|

Living in Christ means you will try to live in fellowship with your brothers and sisters in Christ in His church. |

Everyone will know you are a disciple (disciplined follower) of Christ when you love others (John 13:34-35). |
| Witness and minister to others. |

God is pleased when you bear fruit (John 15:8). |
|

|
Share your faith with others who do not know Christ as you do. |

As you continue with Christ. your spiritual life will grow until you are a mature Christian (2 Peter 3:18). | |

Sharing with others encreases your faith and you will grow stronger. |
